I am here to help you! As a mom, partner, expat and business owner, I understand the pressure to do it all and juggle everything at once. Also, as a former triathlete, I know that making time for exercise is critical to success when it comes to fitness and health. I understand how designing a training plan to reach your goal is so vital. Whether you want to simply build muscle, run a faster mile or lose 10 kg of bodyweight, making a plan, staying accountable, and enabling consistency and commitment are keys to successfully reaching your goal and ultimately improving your health through exercise. I will be with you by your side on your journey towards the healthier you. Together, we will work towards your immediate and long-term goals, equipping you with the necessary tools to develop sustainable habits that will benefit your overall health for a lifetime!

About Me

Michael Crook, NASM CPT, AFAA GFI

Fitness has not always come naturally to me, but striving to be the best at what I do, having pride in my work, and feeling strong and capable every day has. Learning to focus my energy and train myself to commit to a goal has been one of the greatest lessons of my life, and I want to share that feeling, the freedom of self-empowerment, with you. I believe our stories are never set in stone. Each step that we take in life can either move us closer or further away from who we are meant to be.

As an on-and-off swimmer and runner in my teens, I was more of an artist than a committed athlete. Photography was my genre of choice and I carried my talent with me to build a wonderful career that led me all over the world. It wasn’t until my late 20s that I truly understood the commitment required to achieve a fitness goal. It began with a newfound passion for spinning classes at my local YMCA, which eventually led me to train for a triathlon. Despite my initial assumption that road racing would be a breeze, I quickly realized the challenges that cycling presented, especially since I had never ridden a road bike before. With only two weeks to prepare for the race, it took nearly that long to build up to a 14-mile training session which left me with an immense sense of accomplishment. This milestone fueled my motivation, pushing me to participate in numerous triathlons. My last race in 2009, found me standing on the podium at the Los Angeles Triathlon. I eventually spun my passion for sports into my already active photography career and developed a niche as a cycling photographer with a knack for capturing unique moments behind the scenes. 

Photography has been my career and main passion for nearly three decades. Running a professional photography business has equipped me with the essential skills needed to be an effective personal trainer – attentiveness to detail, keen observation, and strong relational abilities. I have come full circle, rediscovering my true calling on that memorable day standing on the podium in Los Angeles. Throughout my journey, a profound appreciation for health, wellness, and the incredible capabilities of the human body has served as my constant inspiration. From photography to fitness and the joy of raising two healthy children, my passion for health and strength is sewn throughout and I am grateful every day for the opportunity to share it with my clients.

Michael is a driven and optimistic trainer who makes working out feel fun! She does an excellent job of explaining movements and making sure you feel comfortable and positioned correctly without being overbearing or critical. I loved the upbeat music and creative combinations which made the session fly by in no time! I would highly recommend  her to anyone looking to gain strength and mobility.

This was exactly the kind of class I’ve been looking for. Core strength training, with a great mindfulness on protecting the body and building a great foundation (which I’ve lost after kids). Michael creates such a comfortable and fun environment, and is really great at giving detailed instruction and feedback for each move to make sure everyone is doing things safely and properly. The exercises were challenging but do-able, perfectly suited for our group.
